Communications and Publications Advisor

We are looking for a Communications and Publications Advisor to join our busy Communications Unit.

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority ensures that New Zealand qualifications are valued as credible and robust both nationally and internationally. We are accountable for managing the New Zealand Qualifications Framework, administering the secondary school assessment system, independent quality assurance of non-university education providers, qualifications recognition and standard setting for some specified unit standards.

The Communications Unit is part of the Office of the Chief Executive. We are responsible for managing external and internal communications on behalf of NZQA, and leading all interaction with news media.

The Communications and Publications Advisor plays a vital role in our small team:

  • providing advice on all elements of NZQA's internal communications
  • managing key publications, such as our Understanding NCEA brochure
  • writing material and producing videos for our website and social media channels
  • organising key stakeholder events such as the annual Top Art exhibition and Top Scholar Awards.

If you're a great writer with event management experience, the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment and a passion for social media as a corporate communications tool, we would love to hear from you!
