Senior Data Analyst / Statistician – One year fixed term

Are you passionate about working with data and generating insights?  Do you have an interest in the education sector? 

We are looking for a senior data analyst / statistician to work alongside our NCEA Online team on generating reporting, analysis and evaluation outputs for NZQA's NCEA Online programme.  The work will be wide ranging including planning for data collection activities, developing evaluation questions, data extraction and analysis, and report writing.

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • Solid experience as a data analyst.
  • Ability to extract and prepare data to answer a wide variety of queries
  • Proficiency in SQL, and excellent Excel skills (experience in the use of other database query and report writing tools an added advantage)
  • Experience in generating insights from available data (both quantitative and qualitative) to answer key business questions
  • Knowledge and experience of quantitative statistical frameworks and techniques
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (statistics, economics or related discipline).
