Can you apply your creative flair in communications, marketing, publications management, project management and business support?  Do you have experience in developing communications strategies aimed at Māori and Pasifika audiences?

We are looking for a Business Support and Communications expert to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to perform at the highest level, in a supportive, target driven environment.

The role includes:

Business Reporting

  • Manage and deliver key reports and information documentation to support and contribute to Future State Programme governance and management, organisational reporting including reporting to Board/SMT, Ngā Kaitūhono, STEM Taupulega and the Future State Steering Group.
  • Contribute to the production of presentation materials and documentation (A3s, proposals, briefings, presentations) that informs strategy or reports outcomes.
  • Coordinate the reporting and delivery of key actions for Te Kōkiritanga and Takiala Pasifika.

Research and Analysis

  • Build and maintain the provision of evidence-based advice, information and support for Māori and Pasifika in STEM initiatives, Te Kōkiritanga, the Pasifika Plan and the Future State portfolio.  
  • Provide analytical insights using data/evidence from a range of sources to inform ongoing priorities, investment and activity.
    • Build and maintain the evidence base and research behind NZQA STEM programmes of work.
    • Contribute to service delivery and practice that promotes Māori and Pasifika learner achievement.

Engagement Support

  • Provide support for engagements with Ngā Kaitūhono, Māori Medium Secondary Qualifications Advisory Group and the STEM Taupulega including co-ordination of meetings, and producing agendas, minutes other relevant documentation
  • Engage effectively with stakeholder groups
  • Provide a point of contact for information for education agencies and other stakeholders.

Māori and Pasifika communications

  • Be the key point of contact for the Communications office in the Office of the Chief Executive Māori
  • Develop and implement communications action plans to support business activities
  • Produce draft key messages, speeches and briefings for official communication channels
  • Maintain Māori and Pasifika communications on the NZQA website, social media and collaborative online forums
  • Provide communications support to key NZQA events 
  • Prepare speeches and presentation material for Māori and Pasifika audiences
  • Contribute to the organisation of annual events for activities such as Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori and Pasifika Languages weeks
  • Provide business support to commission communications and design services

 

This is a Wellington based position.
