The NZQA Quality Assurance Division (QAD) is responsible for ensuring the quality of non-university tertiary education organisations and the qualifications and programmes being delivered across New Zealand.  A component of that work focuses on the management of risk primarily within the non-university tertiary sector. The success of this work is critical to the integrity of the tertiary qualifications system and the reputation of the New Zealand international education brand. 


Risk Case Analyst


Are you up for an exciting new challenge? We have an opportunity in our Risk Management team for a new Risk Case Analyst.


The role of a Risk Case Analyst involves the management of investigations, complaints, and other quality assurance risks in the tertiary education sector, that have an impact on both education providers and students.

To be successful in this role, you need strong analytical and investigative skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and collaboratively in a team environment.

The challenging compliance nature of the role means that it is subject to significant legal and media scrutiny. You must therefore have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, be highly organised and methodical, and able to deliver results at a consistently high level.

The role involves ongoing interaction with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including education providers, other agencies, and tertiary students, so you need to demonstrate advanced relationship management skills. The regulatory nature of the work means that you must be able to manage conflict well.

Knowledge of, or an interest working in, the New Zealand tertiary education sector and/or previous experience of regulatory work would be an advantage.
