Data Analyst and Report Writer

Psychometrics, Reporting and Statistics, NZQA

Are you passionate about working with data and generating insights?  We have a data analyst role we are looking to fill.  Our team provides data, analysis and statistics to support NZQA in administering the NCEA qualification and NZ Scholarship examinations.  We are a small team and our work is wide ranging – from data extraction and preparation activities to working with business teams to deliver reports and analysis.

 The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to extract and prepare data to answer a wide variety of internal and external queries
  • Proficiency in SQL, and sound Excel skills (experience in the use of other database query and report writing tools an added advantage)
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • An aptitude for identifying information and insights from available data to answer key business questions
  • A desire to engage with business teams to understand requirements and deliver one off or ongoing reporting and analysis. 
  • An appreciation and interest in the education sector.
  • Prior work experience as a data analyst is not required but may be an advantage.
